Intermediate

Boardsports School enjoys exclusive teaching rights at 2 of the best beach locations in the Bay Area - Crown Beach Alameda and Coyote Point Park in San Mateo. We have side on shore winds, long sandy beaches, and shallow warm water. Learn at these two ideal beginner and intermediate locations where you will come back to practice on your own. We also offer a full retail shop and can outfit you with all of the gear including kite, bar & lines, board, helmet, harness, impact vest, board leash, knife, and wetsuit.

We have many instructors working with us and are always hiring new ones! Our instructors are certified by the International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO) and the Professional Air Sports Association (PASA).

For fall 2011, please call for reservations. The wind season in the SF Bay Area is March-September so we are only booking lessons for people with lots of free time that can be very flexible with the general lack of wind in the late season. If you are one of those people, call us and we can see about scheduling your lesson. Otherwise wait until March 2012 when we commence our lessons at the beginning of the season (consistent local wind season is March-September).

All taught at Crown Beach Alameda or Coyote Point in San Mateo. Crown Beach is where you will come back to practice on your own (Boardsports School is the only school permitted to teach on Alameda Beach - the best beginner location in the Bay Area).

Jetski / PWC Option

Have us follow you with a jetski while you master your kite riding skills. Private lessons only.

WHAT TO BRING
Sun block, a towel, snacks, bottled water, and warm clothes to change into after your lesson.

INTERMEDIATE LESSON OVERVIEW

BEACH SAFE
This lesson is for the student who has taken lessons elsewhere and still does not feel comfortable launching and landing on their own at a crowded beach. In this lesson we will reinforce how to identify and avoid the 3 most common launching/landing errors. Land-based lesson. 1 1/2 hours.

BOARD SKILLS
Need more help getting on the board? We'll get you up and riding in this board skills class. 2 hours.

RIDING UPWIND, TRANSITIONS & JUMPING
You've mastered the basics, now you are ready to ride upwind and/or start to jump. 2 hours.
