Our
destination is La Ventana, a windsurfing and kitesurfing paradise on the
Sea of Cortez. This location is renowned for its “El Norte” winds. But
what makes this place so special is the layout. La Ventana is a
huge horseshoe bay that offers side on-shore winds, warm water, great swell
and comfortable conditions for all skill levels.
We stay at 2 different accommodation options
right on the beach. Come join us in Mexico!

Cost options:
The cost of
this vacation is a la carte. You choose which options you like, and price each
one. We stay at one of the two accommodation options below. Windsurfers tend to
stay at Ventana (they have the most current windsurfing gear) and kiters like to
stay at Baja Joes (kite launch right at Baja Joe's beach). Ventana offers a meal
plan (yummy healthy food), yoga, kayaks, mountain bikes, a beach side hot tub,
and tasteful palapa loft style rooms. Baja Joe's offers beachside double rooms
or budget bunk rooms, mountain bikes, kayaks, and shared kitchens. Inexpensive
massage therapists are available at both locations. There are
several good and very informal restaurants and taquerias in town. Once you
arrive, you don't even need to get back your car. You can stay at the
beach, walk into town (5 minute walk) for dinner, and just chill out on the
beach in Baja. This place is incredibly relaxing, beautiful, and has fantastic
conditions for kiteboarding and windsurfing!
We teach
the windsurfing clinic and the cost is $360 for a 3 day/9 hour clinic.
Depending on your skill level, topics can include fast tacking, pivot jibing,
carving jibes, beach starting, waterstarting, harness & footstraps, and
light-wind freestyle.
Kiteboarding
lessons are available from multiple instructors in Baja and we can help reserve
those lessons for you. Fly into Cabo San Lucas from San Francisco (2 1/2 hour
non-stop) on United or Alaska Air. La Ventana is a 2 hour drive from the Cabo
airport. The roads are easy to drive and all major rental car companies are
located at the airport. Flights average around $400 and rental cars average
about $200/week. We can help connect you with others going on the trip to share
rental car expenses and carpool together.
